Baking Tools That Will Make Decorating a Cake Easier

Whenever I'm decorating a cake you can always find me using the same tools. Here are my top three tools I use that will make decorating a cake so much easier.
The first tool I always use is an offset spatula. This will help you put buttercream on your cake and actually get it where you want it. The long thin metal part will help you have better precision than just with a rubber spatula. The offset part of the spatula helps you avoid ruining spots you've already smoothed out. There are a couple of sizes to choose from and you'll want a longer one if you are making a tall cake.
The second tool I always use is a cake scraper. A cake scraper is used to smooth the sides of your cake so that you have an even coating of buttercream around the whole cake. I love to use an acrylic scraper, but I've used metal, plastic and even ones with handles. They all do the job just fine. The cake scraper can also be used to get a sharp edge on the top of your cake. I switch between using the cake scraper and the offset spatula to get the top edge nice and clean. They both work for this step.
The third tool I'll always use forever and ever is the cake turn table. The turntable allows you to get around to all sides of your cake with ease. The turn table is great for smoothing out buttercream and for intricate decoration. I LOVE my Ateco turntable because it is so smooth when it spins around. I have other turntables, but I'll always choose my Ateco over any other.
